1. Who We Are

My Book Hub (my-book-hub.com) is an independent digital books platform operated by Axiella Ltd (company number 16859263, registered in England and Wales, registered office 6 Mulberry Walk, Fleet, England, GU51 5EA). References to "we", "us", "the platform", or "My Book Hub" in these terms refer to the My Book Hub platform and its operators.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old, or have verifiable parental consent, to create an account.

2A. Reader Membership

My Book Hub is operated by Axiella Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16859263), registered office 6 Mulberry Walk, Fleet, England, GU51 5EA. Many of our books are free to read with no account. Membership is an optional monthly or yearly subscription that opens every members' book, read-aloud narration and PDF downloads, including new books as they are added.

• Price. The monthly and yearly prices are shown on the membership page before you pay (for example £9.99 a month or £99 a year in the UK, and $9.99 a month or $99 a year in the US, with local prices in some other countries). It includes any tax we are required to charge. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
• Free trial. When we offer one, new members can try membership free for the number of days shown on the membership page (currently 7). You add a card when you start, but nothing is charged during the trial. We email you a reminder before it ends. If you cancel before the trial ends you pay nothing; if you don't, your paid membership starts automatically on the day the trial ends and your card is charged then. One free trial per person or household - if you have had a membership before, it starts as paid.
• Renewal. Membership renews automatically on the same date each month (monthly plan) or each year (yearly plan), and your card is charged at the start of each period, until you cancel. On the yearly plan we email you about a month before each renewal with the price and date, so you have time to cancel if you want to.
• Cancelling. You can cancel any time from your account page ("Manage billing or cancel"). You keep full access until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. We do not give refunds for part-used months or years, except where the law requires it or something has gone wrong on our side.
• Your 14-day right to cancel. Because membership gives you digital content straight away, when you subscribe you ask us to start your access immediately and agree that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once access has started. This does not affect your right to cancel future renewals at any time, or your rights if something is faulty.
• Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. If a payment fails, we may pause access to members' books until it is sorted out.
• Fair use. Membership is for you and your household's personal, non-commercial use. PDFs you download may not be shared publicly, resold or uploaded elsewhere.

Gift memberships

• What it is. A gift membership gives the person who uses the code the same access as a paying member for 3, 6 or 12 months. It is one payment and it never renews, so no further charges are ever taken.
• Starting it. The gift starts on the day the code is entered by a signed-in reader account, not on the day it was bought. Codes do not expire. A second gift on the same account starts when the first one ends.
• Refunds. If a gift code has not been used, the buyer can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying it. Once the code has been used, the digital content has started and the 14-day cancellation right ends.
• Keep the code safe. Anyone with the code can use it, so treat it like a gift card. If a code is lost, email us from the address used to buy it and we will resend it.

2B. Free Access for Teachers and Libraries

• Who it's for. Teachers, librarians and other educators who want to use My Book Hub with children in a classroom, library or educational group. We may confirm that a request comes from a real school or library, and we can decline or end access that is being used another way.
• What you get. Free access to every book for 12 months, for you to read with the children you work with (for example on a whiteboard, screen or at storytime). You can ask again when it ends. There is no charge and nothing renews automatically.
• One login, no student data. Access is a single account for you. Children do not need accounts and we do not collect information about them. Please don't share your password publicly or use the account to give individual families access - families can use our free books or join themselves.
• Downloads. PDFs may be used and printed for your own classroom or library sessions, but not shared publicly, sold or uploaded elsewhere.

3. Who Owns the Books You Create

3.1 Your Copyright

You retain the copyright in any original text, illustrations, and creative elements that you personally authored within a book created on this platform. My Book Hub does not claim ownership of your underlying copyright.

3.2 Licence You Grant to My Book Hub

By saving or submitting any book on this platform, you grant My Book Hub an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Publish, display, and distribute the book in digital and physical formats
• Sell the book through My Book Hub and any partner channels
• Reformat, resize, or adapt the book for different reading devices (e-readers, PDF, web, print)
• Use the book title and cover image for marketing and promotional purposes
• Sublicense the above rights to third-party distributors, retailers, or technology partners

This includes making the book available free to everyone or as part of My Book Hub membership, as we decide. Proceeds from sales and membership go to My Book Hub. No royalties are payable to creators under this free-tier arrangement. You are using the platform's tools, hosting, and distribution network free of charge in exchange for this licence grant.

3.3 Moral Rights

You retain your moral rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, including the right to be identified as the author. You agree not to assert your moral rights in a way that would prevent My Book Hub from exercising the licence granted in clause 3.2. We will credit you as the creator of your work wherever practical.

3.4 AI-Generated Content

Books created using AI image generation tools on this platform may incorporate AI-generated imagery. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may have limited or no copyright protection under applicable law. You remain responsible for ensuring that any prompts and creative direction you provide do not infringe third-party rights.

4. Content Rules

You must not create or submit books that contain:

• Content that infringes third-party copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Defamatory, abusive, threatening, or harassing material
• Adult, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content for a family platform
• Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Personal data of third parties without their consent

We reserve the right to remove any content that breaches these rules without notice.

5. Book Deletion - Important

This policy exists because:

• The licence granted in clause 3.2 is irrevocable - the platform may have already listed, promoted, or sold the book
• Removing a book that readers or members are relying on would breach our obligations to them
• It protects the integrity of the platform catalogue

If you believe a book you created contains an error or infringes someone's rights, contact us at info@my-book-hub.com and we will review it promptly.

6. Warranties You Give Us

By submitting a book, you confirm that:

• The book is your original work, or you have the right to submit it under these terms
• The book does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
• You have obtained all necessary consents for any real people depicted or named in the book
• You are legally entitled to grant the licence in clause 3.2

7. Platform Availability

We provide My Book Hub on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time. In the event that the platform ceases to operate, we will make reasonable efforts to return your book files to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Book Hub shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed £100. If you are a consumer (for example a member reading at home), this cap does not apply to your statutory rights: we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, and if digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. For members, we will give at least 30 days' notice of changes that affect membership, and you can cancel before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and if you live elsewhere you keep any mandatory protections of the consumer law where you live.
