A peek inside
Hoot the soft brown owl sits in the calendar corner. He puts on his round glasses and smiles. Today he will teach the seven days of the week in order.
First comes Monday, says Hoot as he points to the calendar. Monday is the start of the school week. The children wave hello to Monday with big smiles.
And then comes Tuesday, right after Monday. Hoot flaps his soft wings with joy. Tuesday is the next day of the week, and everyone claps.
And then comes Wednesday, the day in the middle. Hoot peeks through his round glasses and nods. Wednesday sits right between Tuesday and Thursday.
And then comes Thursday, right after Wednesday. Hoot hops once beside the big classroom calendar. Everyone says Thursday out loud with a happy shout.
And then comes Friday, the last school day. Hoot twirls his feathers and grins wide. Friday comes after Thursday, and the class feels excited.
And then comes Saturday, a fun day to play. Hoot points to Saturday on the bright calendar. Saturday comes after Friday, and children dance about.
