A peek inside
Milo stands in the warm kitchen ready to bake. He needs three spoons for mixing the cookie dough. Flour dusts his cheerful apron.
Milo finds three spoons side by side. They are not the same length at all. He looks closely to see which is which.
First Milo finds the shortest spoon. It is tiny and shiny in the light. He says this one is the shortest of the three.
Next Milo finds a spoon that is longer. It is not short and not the longest. This middle spoon sits between the other two sizes.
Then Milo finds the longest spoon of all. It stretches farther than the other two. He smiles at the long shiny spoon.
Oh no, the spoons sit in the wrong order. The long spoon is first and the short spoon is last. Milo wants to fix the line.
Milo moves the shortest spoon to the start. Now the short spoon is first in line. That is the right place for the shortest one.
