A peek inside

Theo climbed the creaky stairs to the cosy attic one quiet night. Moonlight spilled through a dusty window onto an old grandfather clock whose tall wooden case smelled of polish and secrets. Theo wore his soft nightshirt and pushed messy brown hair from his eyes as he loved exploring forgotten corners. The clock face glowed softly. When he touched the brass pendulum, something wonderful happened and the world tilted and shrank. Suddenly Theo stood inside a miniature Victorian toy theatre. Velvet curtains framed tiny painted streets while gas lamps flickered beside cardboard buildings that lined a cobblestone square. "Where am I?" he whispered. A soft ticking filled the air like a heartbeat. This place felt alive with magic and waiting stories.

A small wooden puppet girl peeked from behind a curtain. She wore a blue dress with white lace and said softly, "You look kind. Please help us. Our brave tin soldier Brasswick has been taken." Theo knelt so he could see her better and asked, "Taken by whom?" Her painted eyes grew wide. "By Umbrax, the Shadow King. He lives in the dark tower beyond the paper mountains. He wants every puppet to dance only for him." Theo felt his heart beat faster. He had never been a hero before, yet this little world needed one. "I will try to find Brasswick," he promised. The puppet clapped her tiny hands while nearby other toys nodded hopefully. Theo stood tall in his nightshirt, ready for adventure.
