A peek inside
Pip loved helping in Grandma's old village bakery. The warm ovens hummed and the air smelled of cinnamon and sweet dough. One rainy afternoon Pip swept near the counter when a loose floorboard creaked loudly underfoot. Suddenly the board tipped and Pip tumbled down into the dark space below. Soft flour dust puffed up like tiny clouds. Pip landed with a gentle thump on a spongy carpet of crumbs. Strange glowing sugar crystals lit a winding path ahead. Curious and a little excited, Pip stood up and brushed off the flour. Something wonderful waited just beyond those sparkling lights, and Pip decided to follow the path deeper under the bakery.
The path opened into a bright miniature world made entirely of baked treats. Tiny candy bridges crossed rivers of melted chocolate. Cookie cottages sat in neat rows with icing rooftops. Gingerbread trees waved their spicy branches in a soft breeze that smelled like vanilla. Pip gasped in delight at the clever details everywhere. Suddenly a small figure in shiny red icing armour marched into view. He carried a candy cane sword and wore a brave smile. His name was Crumb, a plucky gingerbread knight. Crumb stopped, looked up at the giant visitor, and offered a friendly wave. Pip knelt carefully so they could speak face to face.
