A peek inside

Theo lived in a cozy attic filled with dusty trunks and forgotten treasures. One rainy afternoon he spotted something special. An old grandfather clock stood tall against the wall, its brass face gleaming in a thin beam of sunlight. Theo adjusted his tiny goggles and wrapped his red scarf tighter. "What secrets do you hold?" he whispered. He climbed the carved wooden side with careful paws. The clock ticked slowly, almost like a heartbeat. Suddenly a small door near the pendulum swung open. Warm golden light spilled out. Theo's whiskers twitched with excitement. Adventure was calling, and he was ready to answer. He took a deep breath and stepped toward the glowing doorway.

Theo stepped through the doorway and gasped. He had shrunk to the size of a real mouse, or perhaps the world inside had grown enormous. Giant brass gears turned slowly all around him. Silver springs coiled like shining rivers. Tiny lanterns hung from copper beams, casting soft circles of light on polished pathways. The air smelled of oil and warm metal. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. The sound surrounded him like music. Theo walked carefully along a narrow bridge made of interlocking cogs. Below him, a sparkling river of liquid time flowed gently past. "This place is wonderful," he said aloud. His voice echoed softly. He felt brave and curious all at once. The kingdom of the clock waited ahead, full of mystery.
