A peek inside
In a quiet green forest, the sun goes down. Soft shadows stretch between the trees. Little flowers stay closed all day long. They wait for nighttime to come. The air feels cool and calm. Soon something magical will begin under the dark sky.
Foxie is a small russet fox cub with wide curious eyes. He sits inside his warm burrow. The dark outside makes him feel shy. He pulls his fluffy tail close. Foxie likes the soft dirt walls. He does not want to go out yet.
Outside, the night flowers begin to open. Petals unfurl one by one. Soft glowing lights float up like tiny stars. They shine gold and gentle blue. The forest floor sparkles with warm light. A magical circle starts to form among the green leaves.
Velvet the badger walks slowly into the glow. His silver-tipped fur shines in the light. He carries a small basket of berries. Other animals gather around him with smiles. They sit in a soft circle. Everyone is ready for stories and snacks.
Foxie peeks from his burrow door. His nose twitches at the sweet berry smell. He sees the glowing lights dance. His wide eyes grow bigger with wonder. The dark does not seem so scary now. Still, his little paws stay inside.
Foxie takes one small step outside. Then he takes another careful step. The glowing flowers light his path. Soft moss feels nice under his paws. He walks toward the circle of light. His heart beats fast but he keeps going.
Velvet sees the little fox cub coming near. He smiles a gentle badger smile. Hello, Foxie. Come sit with us, he says. Velvet pats a soft spot beside him. Foxie sits down slowly. The warm glow wraps around them both.
