A peek inside
In the heart of a grand Ottoman city stood a hammam glowing with warm marble and colored mosaic tiles. Young Halil hurried between the steaming basins, his linen wraps fluttering as he carried fresh towels. He loved the hush of the bathhouse, the way water dripped like soft music. Today the air felt different, heavier somehow. Halil paused and tilted his head, listening.
Tiny voices seemed to drift inside the curling steam, too quiet to understand yet too clear to ignore. Halil set down his towels and stepped closer to a rising white cloud. The steam swirled toward him as if it had noticed him too. His heart beat faster with curious excitement. What secrets could a cloud possibly keep inside these ancient walls?
