In a bright house near the sparkling blue water of Plettenberg Bay in South Africa lived a happy family. Little Liya had curly hair that bounced when she smiled her warm smile. She was five years old and loved every adventure. Her dad Thabo always wore a colourful shirt and hummed cheerful songs. He loved making a big braai with sizzling meat and vegetables. Mum Nomsa had long braids and a kind face. She worked hard planning beautiful weddings for their small events company. Together they shuffled family life with walks, hikes, beach trips and home barbecues. Every day felt full of sunshine and love. Liya woke up excited because today felt special already. The sea breeze came through the open window. Birds sang outside in the garden trees. She stretched her arms and called out good morning to everyone.
Nomsa sat at the kitchen table with her notebook open wide. She planned a wedding for a happy couple that weekend. Ideas for colourful flowers and soft music filled her neat pages. Liya climbed onto a chair beside her mum with a bounce. "Can we go to the beach today?" Liya asked with hopeful bright eyes. Nomsa smiled kindly and stroked Liya's curly hair gently. "We have some work first, my dear, but we will find time for play soon." Thabo walked in wearing his brightest shirt with red and yellow patterns. "I can help pack the chairs and tables later," he said with a cheerful grin. Their small events company made special days wonderful for others. Liya watched her mum write careful lists of tasks. She felt a little impatient but understood. Family life meant sharing jobs and joys each day.
