A peek inside
On Saltrock Lane, where the tide pools shimmer and the sea-glass glows, every hermit crab lived in a shell apartment. Finn's shell was mossy, chipped at the rim, and just a little too small. "It's the scruffiest shell on the whole lane," whispered two passing crabs. Finn tucked his claws inward and said nothing. But his wide eyes stung.
One grey morning, Finn spotted old Barnacle Bridget crouched beside his doorstep. She was scraping something onto a slab of pale sea-glass with her ink-stained tool. "What are you doing?" Finn asked carefully. Bridget gave her kind squint. "Writing history, little one. Your history, if you'll let me show you."
